You know, that's refreshing, because this being DCUM I was really expecting more of a "$100K in student loan debt? Haven't you heard of STATE SCHOOL? My friend's cousin's brother-in-law's uncle went to law school for free at night, while working during the day, and graduated with $50,000 in savings. Now he works for the government part time so that he can see his kids all the time, which none of you BIG LAW slaves get to do, but at least you get your ego fed, right?" So, thanks. And good work to you for managing not to accumulate the loans in the first place.

I have none at the moment. I paid it off when I sold my house at the height of the market. I had had about $40,000 in law school loans. I paid for undergrad myself and had no debt there.
DH and I have about $100K total from law school. But, it's consolidated at 1.25%, so it doesn't make sense to pay it off until our house is paid off, so we pay just a little above the minimum.
None. I went to a state college and had a partial scholarship to law school. I was very fortunate because I got engaged after law school and my future husband covered our rent until I had paid of the remainder of our law school debt. Because he did this for us, the my law school debts ($40K) were paid off in a year and a half.
PP, sorry, I meant my law school debt, not our law school debt.

Lucky enough not to have needed student loans. Parents and scholarships paid undergrad, grad school in the sciences (so tuition paid + stipend), and picked the law school that offered me a full ride.
DH had some loans from undergrad (put himself through school), but paid them off before we married. |
60K about 16k from undergrad and the rest from grad school.
$17k from grad school. No hurry to pay it off since it is only 1.75% interest. Nothing from undergrad (thanks, Mom and Dad!)
None. Had about 9K from fifth year (4-year full ride) undergrad. Grad school on Uncle Sam's dime.
Thank God for Affirmative Action!
None, had a free ride for both Bachelor's and Ph.D.
$175000 from medical school for myself (dh also $175000). I'm 32 and finished training 3 years ago. Plan to pay off in 30 years.
12k from undergrad. Down from 18k, graduated in 97. Made payments for about 6 years, then deferred the loan when I went to grad school (fully funded). I've continued to make small payments over the years, and hope to pay the rest down aggressively once I finish grad school, assuming I can find a job. 3.75% interest rate.
Very very fortunate to say none and it's because of our parents. DH & I both went to state schools. His med school was private and paid for.
DH and I finished undergrad and law with $220K of educational debt. Both Ivy undergrads and private law schools with families who were able to contribute very little. We're five years out of law school and have it down to $140K. About $100K is consolidated at just over 2% so it's hard to see why we'd pay that off before we have to, though there's something not pleasant about having it over our heads.
