I had not added it to my resume or linked in and will not add it. |
| I have a similar situation. I was laid off last month after only 8 weeks and have been applying with that job on my resume and LinkedIn without much success. Prior to that I was laid off from another job after 13 months. Both are contractors. Is the 8-week job understandable in this market or is it better to have an inaccurate 7 months gap? And now my network has seen my latest job. |

Six weeks is too soon. I also was forced into a job change this spring. The first six weeks were hell. It may take a year before you are comfortable. It takes time to get to know people. And depending on the complexity of the job, it could take months to learn everything and feel like you have control.
I certainly wouldn’t quit a job in this job market. It’s easier to find work when you have a job. |
| I am 4 months into my new job, and I hate it. The commute, not being able to pick up my child from daycare, and micromanagement don't seem to be worth it. |
I have 30 years of work experience. I know when job is going to work for me and my lifestyle. I also know my own financial situation and goals to know what level of risk I can take. You do you! |
You do interviews as "an appointment" during the day. You look when you have free time or afterwork/weekends. For sure, it's a lot, but like I said at least you're getting paid while this is going on. There are people who are in a much more stressful situation not knowing how they're going to pay their mortgage in a few months. |
| I changed jobs last year and knew it was a terrible fit after the first couple months. I hoped it would get better but it definitely did not. At the 5-month mark, I started pushing out my resume. At the 7-month mark, I started applying in earnest. I was lucky to get a new job not long after that and started at the new place about a year after the bad job began. I’ve been at the new job for five weeks and can already tell it’s a better fit. |

Start looking now. Please.
I was you three years ago. I knew from the first week it was a bad fit but I figured I could stick it out for a year. I got let go ten months in and didn't even care because I had already been looking for three months lol. I wound up finding my dream job six weeks later. |
Not OP, but I would not put any insignificant jobs on my resume. |
| We just hired someone new a couple months ago and I really hope they are not one of the kens posting! I’ll be crushed if they leave — we are putting so much time into training them. I keep asking if there’s anything they need, but I also am pretty surprised they took the job with the commute and child care issues they have. Hoping they are making it work. |
