Waiting on direction from supe on what to do today - my component sent out updated guidance late last night to report today in two-hour increments based on the first letter of our last name. Literally no room for us all to be in the building at the same time. What a sh*tshow.

At our component they said if there's no room the employee should badge in as a show of good faith... And then go back home. Fu#$ these people!!

One would think that if agencies and components that did not bring everyone back in office full time had cleared this with higher. If not, it is unquestionably insubordinate and people will, hopefully, be held accountable. As someone who did what I was told and carried on, I find this 12 hour recall satisfying.

Also, how does this work if you already put in your longer days last week for an RDO to occur next week? Do you get overtime? Or some shorter days this week? Because they cannot accept unpaid hours.

We are on maxiflex and I assume if they rescinded AWS we would work shorter days till hit 80. We often work nights and will take half Friday off.

So maxiflex is still available?

No maxiflex and any daily flexibility is cancelled. I didn’t know this when I went to work this morning and now need to take 2 hours of leave to pick up my daughter at school.

6-2:30
8-4:30

Etc.

Whatever you chose but only 8 hour days each day.

Truly insane (and completely unnecessary) to do this in the middle of a pay period.

NP here.

Exactly WHO would you like to run government services? Please answer that. Who should handle it all? AI, if that's even possible? Handpicked biased Trump henchmen who use their positions to punish people they don't like or worse, with the wrong last names? Private contractors who pay salaries impossible to live in the DC area with high deductibles and at most two weeks off per year?

Could be worse. My kids job when short staffed they work more. She is doing 80 hours this week. 7am to 10ish six days straight.

That’s crazy. But she is 23 and gets OT

So you were leaving after only being in the office for 6ish hours and then "teleworking" some time later in the day at home? Yeah, you are the reason this happened.

Right collective punishment for imaginary offenses. great way to run a workplace.

Yeah, of all things I don’t understand the fire drill nature of this. What is the value lost from, say, sending out the email notification this morning and having the effective date be next Monday morning?
