It's all DHS including Coast Card people who just did 12 hr shifts over the weekend.

They are just so nasty and mean.

The lack of notice is so messed up. In addition to plans people may have had on Monday, a lot of the vanpools are designed around an AWS schedule.

Also, how does this work if you already put in your longer days last week for an RDO to occur next week? Do you get overtime? Or some shorter days this week? Because they cannot accept unpaid hours.

We are on maxiflex and I assume if they rescinded AWS we would work shorter days till hit 80. We often work nights and will take half Friday off.

It's one thing to drive away people in positions they don't think are critical but it's another level of stupid to drive away mission critical folks. At some point, there's not going to be enough people to carry out the mission.

I used to work at DHS (no longer) and did not have a work-issued phone. How is everyone being notified over the weekend?

I’m pretty sure that’s a feature, not a bug

We have to report on our employees by 10 AM tomorrow. My supervisor messaged my personal phone to let me know, but I’m not sure how somebody who was supposed to be off tomorrow would find out if they stopped checking their email on Friday. Lucky for me all of my subordinates have resigned, so I don’t have to report anybody.

Does it apply to contractors too?

They sent text blasts and robo calls to all personal cell phones that were subscribed to the emergency contact system.

How is that possible?

Am USCIS and on AL today (approved prior). Waiting on direction from supe on what to do today - my component sent out updated guidance late last night to report today in two-hour increments based on the first letter of our last name. Literally no room for us all to be in the building at the same time. What a sh*tshow.
