The Pope died this morning

So JD Vance pulled him from his deathbed so he could give the Easter mass ceremony, give Easter service and give blessings to the people in the Vatican Square in his popemobile? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

I’m so sorry to hear this. May he rest in peace.

Eternal rest grant unto him, and may perpetual light shine upon him

Prayers for his soul.

Today is not about the US. Pope Francis seemed to be a good man, a role model, working within his constraints to reflect Jesus's teachings. I pray that the next pope will continue to be a unifying leader in a world that desperately needs it.

May he rest in peace. I'm sure there is significance that he died right after Easter service. God bless him.

It means God struck the pope down for opposing Trump, a great man who was placed on the throne of America by God.

God called him home to be with Him. What greater reward for doing good on earth?

Vance spent the last week in the Vatican advocating for the next pope to be more aligned with the Trump vision. Let's all pray he did not succeed.

Devout catholic here and I agree with you. The world needed his voice and leadership. To anyone who believes he wasn’t progressive enough, try to understand the confines in which he worked. He was a revolutionary and he will be missed.

That's right. He actually preached how Jesus lived.

+1 a decent man, who displayed humility and compassion toward others. Impressive steps forward under his guidance. Afraid of what comes next.

RIP to Francis, the wokest pope ever. (And that's not a bad thing.)

THe Pope died. He was an old man who, because of his stature in the world, was kept alive by modern medicine.

+1. I have been a practicing Catholic all of my life and am particularly fond of the Jesuits - I attended a Jesuit school and my son now attends one. I adored Pope Francis. He led with kindness and selflessness and genuinely cared for the poor and marginalized and the environment. He wasn’t afraid to speak out when he saw world leaders engaging in behavior that was morally wrong, and I really liked the direction he was taking the church. This is such a huge loss for so many.

+1. He was pretty woke - so was Jesus.

RIP.
Argentina, the country where he was born, raised, and lived for decades, will be mourning him for one week.
