Never heard of Speed queen and I wonder if this whole post is a marketing plot.
I love our Samsungs. They text me when the load is done. |
Speed queen. Last for ever. Great investment. Move with it if you leave |
I’m from Wisconsin where they’re made . There’s the real deal, in all the Landramats too as those models are heavy usage. Not at all like these cheap singing, no bad touchpad, no water, no agitation, no good cleaning clothes Samsungs, Lg, Ge that only last 5 years like other disposable krap. |

We just got a Speed Queen about 5 months ago, and so far I love it.

Are you for real? The most popular washing machine brand in world history. Every single laundromat will have them due to their forceful cycles, and durability. Maytag are also good, at least they used to be, if you get their commercial washer line. Had two Maytags in the family that each lasted over 20 years each. Speed Queens will last 40 years or more with household use. Even a cheapo washer should last 15 years or more, but apparently washer quality has dropped off in the last 15-20 years since 2009 according to all the online discussions. |
+1. Have had good luck with Samsung as well. |
| We own Samsung and will be moving to SQ as soon as they die out. Samsung has been absolute garbage. |
NP. I hadn't heard of Speed Queen until I got tired of replacing two expensive sets of laundry machines in 5 years and walked into a laundromat to see what they used. Speed Queens! So I went to an independent appliance store that carried them and bought a white basic set with manual knobs and front loading agitator. As old-fashioned as they come. It's been great. Only had a few minor repairs. Repair guys say they are the most reliable machines on the market. The classic toploader is now the TC5. |
Pp again. The only drawback I can see is they use a lot of water relative to front loaders. So I make sure to adjust the load size or do full loads. I love how I can soak stained laundry and the SQ are solid steel made in the US--try pushing them, they stay put. Not inexpensive but they last. |
| Another vote for Speed Queen. I love the hand wash cycle and use it for cashmere sweaters - saves a lot of money in dry cleaning. |
| I never heard of speed queen until a year or two ago when I was looking to buy a washing machine and this is what all of our friends said. I can’t speak to the longevity but after over a year of use we have zero complaints. |
| We have an old kenmore. 15+ years. Still going strong. |
| My LG lasted about 14 years through 3 kids and all their sports laundry. |
| I have a speed queen at the beach and a Samsung at home and they’re both fine. People are really into the speed queens and I’m not sure I get it. It’s great, but they’re all the same to me I guess. |
Quality difference. Like plastic fork compared to sterling silver fork. |
