Good washing machine?

Ours is dead and we need a new one. Looking for a great top loading model with zero bells and whistles -no apps, etc and someone that will deliver and install. Any recvs?

Yep. SQ is the only answer for anyone looking for a long lasting old school machine.
Mine is 10 years old and going strong.

What model? Also, where do you recommend buying it (a retailer that will deliver, install, and take the old appliance away)?

Did you try fixing yours?

My Speed Queen washer is my favorite household appliance I have ever purchased. Worth every penny.

Our Speed Queen set just turned 12. I had to replace some wires on the dryer's timer once--quick and inexpensive repair. That's it as far as maintenance.

SQ is the only answer.

My old sears kenmore lasted 30 years.

Yes, we had a guy come twice and both times they. Supposedly fixed it , but it just keeps getting off balance and banging and banging. It sounds like it is going to explode. it was a cheap whirlpool that the builder gave us when we built the house, so it is probably spent.

Another vote for Speed Queen. The TC5 model. Mine is a beast!

I have a higher level LG from Costco and have been very happy. Mine is visible - in a room right off the kitchen - so I didn’t want it to look like a 1990’s laundromat.
