| regarding veggies -- I've been buying frozen mixed vegetables and making them in the microwave then topping them with shredded cheese (sharp cheddar or parm). The cheese is a game changer, and you don't need much of it. |

Grilled cheese and cut up fruit
Breakfast for dinner OP- do they hate WHAT you make or HOW you make it? |
|
Frozen vegetable dumplings and homemade egg drop soup with baby spinach added
Nachos with beans, cheese, toppings of lettuce, tomato, avocado, green onions and salsa Frozen pierogi with sautéed cabbage and onions. I use coleslaw mix so I have minimal chopping |
This made me laugh. I'm like OP. I hate to cook. All of the above sounds way above my interest or level. |
Yep. I do this as well. Birds Eye mixed vegetables, steam in bag. 5 minutes, pour into a mixing bowl, season with Crazy Jane's and/or top with shredded cheese. Also, cheese and shredded chicken (I buy it already shredded at Whole Foods) on a tortilla. Bake in oven. Serve with Goya black beans. Either salad, fruit, slaw. Whatever anyone will eat. Hamburger patty with our without bun, canned soup (or WF fresh soup.) Either salad, fruit, slaw. Whatever anyone will eat. Something that is really easy but is kid dependent. Make grits/polenta then mix in shredded cheese (type is kid dependent.) Sandwich rolls, slices of turkey or shredded chicken, cheese of choice, smashed avocado, lettuce and tomato. Though I get this would be a no-go for a lot of kids. Served with soup. |
This definitely sounds like the kind of stuff I like to eat. Do you have an egg drop soup recipe? I've tried making it but all the recipes are kind of complicated |

Roasted salmon (sliced lemons on top), air fryer tater tots, bagged Caesar salad
Steamed or fried dumplings or pierogies with steamed peas on the side. Big baked potatoes with cheese, sour cream, black or baked beans (if you like that) |

Egg and cheese sandwiches with fruit.
Pre roasted chicken with a bagged salad that comes with the dressing. Trader Joe’s teriyaki chicken and fried rice (both frozen). Pizza with naan, sauce, and cheese. 2 cans black beans, 1 jar salsa, a little water or broth - simmer and blend for black bean soup. Hot dogs and canned baked beans. Baked ziti with jarred sauce. Chicken and bbq sauce in the crock pot and shredded. There are lots of premade salad bags now and seasoned frozen veggies for sides. Roasted chicken or precooked chicken. Bottles of sauces. My mom was a lazy cook - dump a bottle of something like Italian dressing over chicken and bake. |
| Salsa and chicken in the crock or instapot. Serve over rice with any toppings you have at home (sc, cheese, more salsa, lettuce) |

Near east couscous takes less than 10 min to make. Serve with seared salmon w/ salt, pepper and lemon and bagged Green beans cooked in the microwave. Cook 1 lb ground turkey or beef in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder. Add 1 jar marinara, 1 bag of frozen chopped spinach. Serve over pasta. |
Agree, I laughed when I saw this post. PP trying to be helpful but it’s just not for those of us who don’t like cooking. |
This! One jar of salsa and 2-4 chicken breast in the crock pot. Down! Use it for tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, or just serve with some rice. This is my easiest dinner for when I just can’t cook. Everyone loves it. Trader Joe’s salsa authentica works the best. It’s a very simple salsa with no other random vegetables (or fruit!) in there. This makes it a good blank slate for people to customize as they like |
| Pasta with canned sauce and I cut up whatever veggies the kids will eat and put it in the sauce. Top with shredded cheese. |
