Perfect description and the same is in my house too. My child thrives and is very happy in that environment. I however would be team JMU all the way! It depends on your kid. Visit the schools, talk to people, let them decide.

DP. Which does not attest in any way to JMU students' abilities to do well or not do well under pressure.
Maybe the more "driven" UVA students incapable of stopping are wound up tight because of the pressure from their parents. Whereas JMU students have a healthier life balance, yet still manage to succeed.
