+1 Let him destress, unless the water bill is truly a strain on your finances. My kids both do the same. You should be happy they're having some quiet time to destress and away from screens (and getting clean). |
Oh, OP. He's a teenage boy. Let him destress (whatever that means to him); unless this is impacting you financially. Lol! |
| Let me guess, OP. Your son is your only/oldest child and you still think of him as your sweet little preschooler. He’s doing way more than just taking a shower…😀 |
| I wish my kids showers lasted only 20 minutes. They are ADHD and will often spend 30 - 40+ minutes in the shower. One thing we did to combat this was to install a water miser shower head. They still shower just as long, but at least they are using less water than before. |
| Mine has to use a timer or she would be in there for hours. ADHD. |
| My 13 year old son is in there for a very long time. I let him have 15 min or so before I start nagging to come out. |
Huh???? A kid this age should shower daily. |
Not this again!!!!!!!!!! |
| Another ADHD kid here who spend hours in the shower if I didn’t constantly remind her to finish up. |
For you, PP, and also for all the other parents of ADHD/ neurodivergent kiddos, check out the useful parenting book/ guidance, “Things Ellie Likes,” by Kate E. Reynolds. Some great parenting tips & just good support. |

30-40 minutes but they are girls and both girly girls, I know my 17 yo doesn’t like any hair on her body…so it takes time.
Most boys are probably jerking off but isn’t that preferable to unpleasant laundry sock surprises? Let it go. |
| Jesus, let him jerk off in the shower and leave him be. You f’ing moms are so uptight and annoying AF. Timing showers now? Better than the crunchy socks |
| I will add that it’s ok to holler at him to get out. We only have 2 bathrooms for 4 people so I’ll tell my kids to hurry up. |
Please do not give your kid a mental complex. Just let him be him. |
| Eventually they run out of hot water. |
