Should I become a Muslim or an Anglo-Catholic Episcopalian?

Believe whatever you believe no body is debating religious beliefs.
You can even go to Catholic Church and believe what you believe.

and if you have no spiritual connection, you can go straight to hell.

No, be honest. That’s Paul on women. Jesus never said that.

I guess you missed my point entirely.
Have a blessed Sunday.

That’s the thing. Muslims believe God spoke through Mohammed. So there’s simply no getting away from what the Quran says about slaves, captive women, women in general, and nonbelievers having to pay extra taxes or be killed. Some here can say the quotes someone posted here about women and slavery in the New Testament are from Paul’s letters not from Jesus, but you really don’t have any wiggle room with the Quran.

Oh, only certain parts of the Bible count? Tell that to the multiple conservative Christian communities that are completely fine with raping children.

I worship the One( the metaphysical foundation of reality and the source of beauty/love/goodness) I see the Trinity as nonsensical and view the Old and New Testaments as useful only insofar as they teach love of neighbor and good morals( I don’t see them as historical) Nevertheless, I love sacred choral music and it’s a way for me to encounter the divine

I insist on the absolute unity of God( which Islam emphasizes ) but also love beautiful choral music and art. I know there’s really no tradition which has both

What should I do? Anglo-Catholic Episcopal parishes have the aesthetics I crave but I align more with Islam theologically

Whoa - you're who? and a what? You okay?

I think you should go outside on this nice Sunday morning.

Commune with Nature. Appreciate it's power and beauty. That sort of thing.

"Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. 19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. 20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. 21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps."

What’s your point. Slavery has always existed and today there are more slaves on earth than ever before in human history. It was only ever in history abolished at a large scale when the white Christian men who held power decided to abolish it because their morality teaches that all human beings are equal to god.

Ladies and gentlemen, behold a true Christian

Who was is that murdered millions because they didn't conform to the ideal of White Christianity? It must have been the Muslims I guess since Christians are better than everybody else.

Apparently only certain parts count since the reference above about men was immediately dismissed. We were reminded that women should “submit,” but we are to ignore the much longer verse about men respecting/cherishing their wives.

I don't want to submit to my husband no matter how much he "cherishes" me. Countless generations of women have been abused by their husbands and the Bible was used to support that abuse.

Pew says about 17% of Christians take the bible somewhat or completely word-for-word. That’s the thing for the rest: when you don’t think scripture was dictated directly by God, you can use your intelligence to realize that, you know, Paul was writing pastoral letters and Paul isn’t the same person as Jesus.

Also, your claim everyone is “fine with raping children” is an obvious lie and undermines anything else you have to say.

Really? You want to claim the Quran doesn’t directly encourage murdering non-believers? Or that Muslims never did this murdering? I’m not going to dig any of the multiple Quaranic passages out, but they’re readily available with a quick google.

Your tone is that of a petulant child. Do better.

So then don’t read Paul’s letters. Read the gospels, where Jesus pardons the prostitute, or where he tells Martha to come out of the kitchen and learn from him alongside Mary and the men.
