Should I become a Muslim or an Anglo-Catholic Episcopalian?

This is PaleoConPrep. I’m a former radical Traditionalist Catholic turned fervent Neoplatonist. I worship the One( the metaphysical foundation of reality and the source of beauty/love/goodness) I see the Trinity as nonsensical and view the Old and New Testaments as useful only insofar as they teach love of neighbor and good morals( I don’t see them as historical) Nevertheless, I love sacred choral music and it’s a way for me to encounter the divine

I insist on the absolute unity of God( which Islam emphasizes ) but also love beautiful choral music and art. I know there’s really no tradition which has both

What should I do? Anglo-Catholic Episcopal parishes have the aesthetics I crave but I align more with Islam theologically

It sounds like you're trying to just replace something.

Why do your beliefs need a name? An organization? An identity? Can you not just believe without the organization?

Islam is good on the unity of God, but bad on mamy other aspects , eg role of women. I would encourage you to keep exploring faiths till you find the right one. What about Unitarians?

The music doesn’t lie. Episcopalian all the way.

Ah, PaleoConPrep. How have you been? How is life treating you? Why no more RTC?

And yes - a beautiful Anglo Catholic parish with a choir and organ is going to be what you want. It needs to be an ACNA church - not the Episcopal Church.

I love sacred music too and will be at the Cathedral today listening to it while marveling at the beautiful architecture, built without any structural steel, just like the ancient cathedrals.

I am an atheist, not looking for an ideology that perfectly suits my needs.

Have you ever been to a Unitarian "church"? They tend to be bright and have no statues, no smells, no bells and they sing insipid songs about nature.

As an atheist, I think you should pick Episcopalians.

Have you even read the Koran? What are your thoughts on the societies which have been created in the wake of Islamic moral code compared to Christian ethics?

Do you believe Mohammed was God’s prophet on earth? If no, ACNA is the way to go.

Here is the New Testament on women:
"Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.

For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the savior.

Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything."

Another gem from the New Testament:
"Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. 19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. 20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. 21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps."

What’s your point. Slavery has always existed and today there are more slaves on earth than ever before in human history. It was only ever in history abolished at a large scale when the white Christian men who held power decided to abolish it because their morality teaches that all human beings are equal to god.

How about adding what comes next:

“ Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body.” –Ephesians 5:25-30

In short: women are to be loved, nourished, and cherished. Men are to give themselves up to their wives as Christ gave himself to the church.

Go where you feel spiritual connection for whatever reason.
Believe whatever you believe no body is debating religious beliefs.
You can even go to Catholic Church and believe what you believe.

So what? Good Christian wives should still "submit" to their husbands.
