When are grocery prices going down?

Anonymous
The new story will be that grocery prices are higher because of tariffs. People don’t know or really care what tariffs are or what goods they apply to, or that they are reciprocal. So grocery prices are what they are but really, what can the government do with all these other nasty countries not helping out?

Tariffs impact imported food products.
Trump's big deportation push will increase the cost of domestic meat and agricultural products, as well as restaurant prices.

Grocery prices aren't going down any time soon and will in fact continue to get worse. And I don't see Republicans doing jack to help increase wages. Any increase in profits all go to the top of the corporate food chain, virtually nothing ever "trickles down" - the Republicans popularized that term with their disastrous policies of the 1930s and it gained more popularity with Reagan but the data shows clearly it's a lie and very little of it trickles down.

The grocery prices are as criminal as the guy sitting behind the resolute desk, or at least pretending too. I don’t know why MAGA aren’t marching over that!

Yes, tariffs impact imports. But no one was looking to increase those until it became a trade war, which didn’t come from those places first. But you know, not the government’s fault. It’s the nasty people at the other end who just won’t take it.

I paid more this month than I did last.

You actually believed that Trump was going to bring down grocery prices? I have a bridge in Brooklyn and one in San Francisco I would love to sell you.

This country has paid a massive price for electing Biden. He did tremendous damage to this country. We never needed the wasteful, self-indulgent American Rescue Plan. Biden created $2 trillion in debt and overheated the economy by pumping massive levels of government money into the economy. The result was a cycle of inflation. It will be hard to reverse the price increases Biden caused. Biden made most households in this nation poorer by causing the prices to rise so dramatically. My cost of rent, health insurance, auto insurance, etc. has went up massively since the awful President was inaugurated in 2021. Few people’s salaries increased enough to pay for his massive price increases. So, most of us are poorer and our standard of living has declined because of Biden. I voted for Trump hoping he could reverse Biden’s destruction of the middle and poor classes in this country. Even if he can’t, Kamala would have hired the same failed economic advisors who would continue to mismanage the economy. A vote against Kamala was a vote to stop the terrible “Bidenomics” policies that have crushed so many workers in this country.

As long it's it's Republicans and billionaires raising prices, they seem to be fine with it.

Trump is killing what was a decent economy. This is occurring with Trump in power and Rs controlling everything.

It's directly a result of his actions right now. He's spooking the market.

Did you vote for this? You might want to hire a professional manage your money. You don't seem to understand the basics of economy.

Prices won't drop. They never did after COVID.

Take a few minutes to read how the rest of the world fared post-COVID and compare that to the US. No one is pleased there was a global pandemic and global economic suffering as a result. But the US did better economically post-COVID than anyone else. The larger context doesn’t bring down the cost of eggs, but it is a relevant data point. FWIW, threatening tariffs, suggestions that Canada become the 51st state, floating the idea of developing the Gaza Strip, and taking away Head Start and free lunch for kids doesn’t drive down the price of eggs either. The private sector doesn’t like spending money during times of unpredictability.

Those pro-life legislators are working on it. I can’t wait to see the gaslighting advertising campaigns to follow.

Trump lied. And all the copium about it all being better by thanksgiving is horses&@t. It’s going to be unimaginably worse if the GOP doesn’t find its spine and rein Trump in.

Wait so you are saying Kamala is a shadow president behind Trump and that is why prices are still high?
