| I hope they also focus in the institutional corrupted DC Government lead by Bowser and her clique of cronies. |
Bowser seems extremely competent and sane when you compare her to many members of the DC Council. |

Dear ones…crime has been decreasing significantly over the last 18 months. Literally violent crime is at a 30 year low according to the DOJ as of Jan 3 this year. What’s this ‘DC leaders couldn’t do it themselves’ nonsense?
Please enjoy a newspaper sometime. |
+1. Bunch of fools posting on this thread. Do you really think the Trump Administration is going to, for once, make logical policy choices?! Or do anything well?! Or hire the very best people for this task? Come on. This is a cover for crackdown on the city, immigration raids, curbing protests with views they don't like in the name of "security," possibly curfews. And worse. They don't give a flying F about carjackings or muggings of DC residents (whom they hate, btw) or quality of life. Get real. This is REALLY bad news. |
Yep. (Most of the people posting here do not live in DC. I guarantee it.) |
+1. This is a facade to take out their authoritarianism on the population of DC. |
You're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. Here are the facts: * 2023 saw the highest number of homicides in DC since 1997. * The DC Police is understaffed by at least 500 officers. * The DC crime lab remains unaccredited. * There were over 950 carjackings in 2023 - that's the equivalent of 2.6 carjackings per day! In 2024 there were still 496 carjackings and 70% of those were at gunpoint. We still have a long way to go. |
Yes, but crime was really down for 3 days in January... |

Pp here. Brought my receipt.

As an editorial aside, if 12:00 thinks Trump going to fix the crime lab accreditation issue, I will watch with fascination as this obviously will not happen. |
Wasn't there a year between 2023 and the current year? Hm. |
Yes, that would be the year we saw 496 carjackings, more than one per day. |
| Good it's about time. |
| It's puzzling why anyone would object to laws being enforced. |
Because they've bought into a toxic ideology that says that it's somehow racist to expect people to obey the law. Not surprisingly, it's an extremely unpopular policy position outside of the Takoma Park-type crowd. |
