I mean, she’s not wrong about the German part. But it was still in poor taste to respond to the comment at all. Unbecoming of her position. |
You know, it was clearly meant to be a provocative comment. I agree with you there. But that doesn't take away from the fact that her response makes her look totally ignorant. I am truly embarrassed for her. I think she is used to being the quickest, brashest, toughest person in the room in a small setting. I am from New England and St Anselm's is a lovely school and community filled with students who are not very academic. She is absolutely not ready for the world stage and is making a mockery of herself and our country. |
She probably referred to WWII because she doesn't know that France funded the colonies for the American Revolution or that Cornwallace tried to surrender to Rochambeau who then forced him to surrender to Washington, among other ways France helped the US become the US. I am really surprised how many people don't know about the French involvement during the Revolutionary War, so I wouldn't be shocked if she is one of them. |
WWII is more recent than the revolutionary war. |
No kidding. But if you are going to bring up History, you need to be aware of more than just one part of it. Otherwise, you sound like an ignorant child. |
I miss Jen Psaki. She would have just said "Noted. Next." She was a very bright professional. I miss having smart people in charge. |
No she is. The US joined the war extremely late and although they helped shorten it, they only joined to offset Soviet influence. The Soviet Union+allies would have defeated the Germans with or without US help. Tbh I find it funny in this country how people always attribute WW2 victory in Europe to US, when, compared to the rest of the participants, they US had a fairly negligeable effect. They shortened the war sure, but we're not responsible for victory. Only joined when it was relatively clear which direction the war was going |

I watched his speech. He looked so smug and pleased with himself, smiling like he said something cute and clever. He was being a provocateur seeking applause on the backs of Americans who are actually suffering from Trump. We need symbols of ongoing democracy and reminders of what makes us a country more than ever. As for her response, that is the level I expect from the Trump administration. In this particular instance, it doesn't shock me or strike me as dumber than the original statement. |
When they realize that Silicon Valley will be the only beneficiary of GOP policies. |
I agree. They specialize in boorish behavior. And, Trump and Vance act like it is their personal money and property. Ugly Americans. |
January of 1942 was when the US sent the first division to Europe. And technically, we entered the war against both Japan and the rest of the Axis powers in December of 1941 . . . |
I wonder if she understands the significance of working across the street from Lafayette Park . . . I doubt that sort of complex thought is permitted inside her blonde little noggin', but I hope. |
Mean Girl. That's what she's there for. |
