It was masterfully acted. The dialogue was also well written.

I am a parent, and found the last episode to be so sad but also realistic.

I think any boy (or adult for that matter) can be radicalized/self-radicalized if the environment and circumstances allow. In Jamie’s case, he locked himself in his room every night after being bullied and self-radicalized.

That’s what made the bedroom scene in Eo4 with the parents so heartbreaking. Everyone in this series are superb actors.

So what is the takeaway about his bursts of anger, inherent or caused by his home, school and social media destructions?
It was very believable to see Jamie transform from a scared very innocent looking child pulled from his wallpapered bedroom, into the angry mean and scary teen possibly capable of murder. He physically changes before your eyes.

But in my trauma psych experience there is usually an underlying primary disorder and Dx, and then several secondary disorders like anxiety, depression, bullying, rages to cover up the underlying one. It’s all to protect one’s image and ego.
It is not “shame” - many mental and personality disorders are not empathetic nor feel actual shame, just lie and blame constantly to get people off their case.
