Edmund Burke Acceptance Rates

The counter argument is that there is a different “reason” that comes up every year as to why the trend will reverse. The federal government situation, of course, is incredibly real and may or may not be impactful on the demographic looking at private schools. I think the less expensive Catholics are more likely to be impacted than the more expensive independents, but time will tell.

Ultimately, I think that a lot of people have a lot of money and that private schools have climbed up the priority list. Whether it’s for wholesome reasons (genuinely believing in the smaller classes, more personalized instructions) or the crass (the prestige of wearing a school like a handbag), the demand has outpaced supply. Some believe it will correct, I happen to believe it is a long-term secular change.

In at Burke! Hurray! That was our top choice. Can't fully let ourselves celebrate until we know if we got any financial aid, though. Anyone know how long it might take for them to email us the contract so we can see how expensive this is going to be?

Our acceptance letter said they would not be awarding aid. So if yours doesn’t say that, perhaps a good sign!

Ours also said we were in a waitlist pool, so I agree that saying nothing is a good sign that an offer is pending.

We now have the contract. The acceptance was silent about financial aid. The email about the contract indicated that financial aid decisions could be viewed at the top of the contract, but there was nothing about financial aid to be found there. I guess that's the answer. Gulp.

Sorry to hear it. I tend to be a realist, but it’s possible that it’s a tech coordination issue. Worth a call on Monday. Dare I ask if the financial aid was absolutely required to be able to attend? Either way, congrats on the admission.

Yes, always worth asking.

It’s not necessarily a dealbreaker, but it’s a daunting prospect.

We’re in at Burke but didn’t get a box. Did it come USPS?

Yes, from USPS. I’d look out for it tomorrow!

We got in at Burke for 6th but zero word on aid. My son is so excited and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can make this work for him. I sent an email this morning, so if there's any good info I will post!
