Once you are in, you are in. DS was accepted in 3rd grade and we deferred until 7th grade. Easy to get him into the AAP classes at his MS. |

Do they ever blow their own deadline? |
Email will be sent only to accepted students or
to all students whose file was sent to the central committee? |
Usually they meet the deadline. They will send the email by 5 PM on the due date. One exception was last year they were supposed to send appeal decisions by Friday (not sure of the date). They ended up emailing the appeal decisions the following morning (Saturday). |
To all students whose file was sent. You will get either an acceptance email or a rejection email. |
The rejection email will come with information on how to appeal. The timeline is usually fairly short for that. The acceptance email will come with a deadline on accepting or deferring. Like clockwork, the acceptance website will crash with the volume of activity. Good luck! |
Does anyone know if the school AARTs are informed of the results in advance? |
I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think so - at least not significantly so. If the email to parents goes out Friday at 5, I think they get the list that same Friday in the morning. |
This is my impression as well. My friend received an email from her AART the morning before the decisions were sent out. I think the AART notified her to get a response asap on whether the child would move to the center school. |
This week |
Do we think it will come on the third or do they wait til the last minute? |
In my experience they do it the last minute - so 5 PM on the fourth. But then, I don't even know why they bothered mentioning April third at all on the website. |
Right?! That's my question. Why mention the third if it's irrelevant? I guess we'll know soon enough. |
I suppose they just want parents to get stressed; or maybe they will send the info on Thursday and all the staff involved get to take Friday off? |
