AAP decisions coming a full week before spring break

Anonymous
Is anyone else surprised that AAP decisions are coming out a full week before spring break? In past years it was always after 4pm on the Friday before spring break. Everyone always said it was so the AARTs and principals didn't have to deal with all the upset parents until after spring break. This year it says a whole week before. I just hope they don't push it out until the 11th.

Where does it say that?

Are you sure the dates aren't old on the website from last year? That happens sometimes.

The dates all say 2025, so hopefully they are not that incompetent.

Yes, this years dates. April 4-5. Although I feel like in past years it also listed 2 dates but it was always Friday evening.

I was told by my AART to expect to be notified the first week of April.

Maybe it has to do with teacher hiring at centers and such. Maybe spring break is late this year for all that, when they really need to know numbers.

Spring break is 3 weeks later this year. They have to allow time for appeals and staffing

I guess this year they'll just have to deal with parents' follow-up questions regarding their opaque process.

This year's easter is relatively late at 4/20, therefore the spring break is 4/14-4/19. That's why AAP result is "early" in relative to spring break. Last year the spring break was in March and AAP result came out after spring break.

Traditionally AAP result came out around 4/1,
It was never about the principal or AART avoiding the fallout.

I bet it's the Friday before Spring Break. Note that on the AAP identification timeline it says "All dates are pending school board approval." Meaning, they will do whatever they want to do and are not bound to what they put on the website.

Hopefully not. They don't always adhere to their own published timing, but holding the AAP info until Spring Break this year would result in less than two weeks for appeals, which are due May 1st.

As already stated, it’s April 3/4th. I am a teacher and the date is posted.

Do kids get re-accepted every year? Or is it a once you're in you're in situation?
