No...and im a JMU grad. |
+1, but the girls are way more attractive at JMU. #GoDukes! |
Why not? |
Get real. |
It's a great school and value. |
I'm the JMU grad. It would be nice but I don't think moving up the USNWR rankings is their or alumni primary objective. Most would prefer expanding seating on lopsided FB stadium than being a T75 school. Seriously. They graduate "normal" employable young adults. Sure there are differing opinions |
For kids in and around the Mid-Atlantic it is a great option. |
I know half a dozen kids this year who thought it was a safety and were mistaken. |
+1 My son is now a freshman at JMU (from NoVa), and I was surprised at the number of kids from that area. Lots of NJ/NY students. |
We attended CHOICES day for admitted students this past weekend. They said they had 44,000 applications this years. Higher, not lower, than prior years. |
Have you BEEN to JMU? The school spirit and energy there oozes from every nook and cranny! |
28 states and 3 countries were represented at admitted students day this past weekend, including at least one student from Colorado -- she won a doorprize, so we know she's from Colorado. |
Yep. |
Maybe if you think a rise from #200 in most rankings to #150 is a rise...SCHEV data shows that its acceptance rate has literally never been higher... |
As to post itself, the poster assumes this is permanent and then uses ranking as a plural. Tech is one spot higher in the USNWR ranking than William and Mary and methodologies will change again. Forbes has W&M significantly higher in its 2025 ranking. I can locate others where W&M is higher so the post is not correct but give Tech credit as a great school. As to the question itself, maybe one day but not in your or my lifetime. W&M just received $150MM in donations to fund one degree program and the amount is greater than JMU's entire endowment, not to mention JMU is many times larger than W&M. |
