I have the Volvo and the Tesla , the Tesla is still better in terms of ev features and infotainment.

Does anyone else see the irony of EV buyers trading in a newish car for political reasons? Talk about bad for the environment!

I test drove a few EVs and went with a Chevy. I absolutely hate the giant screen that Teslas have, I think it's much less safe than buttons you can feel to change things in the car.

Hi there. I have a Volvo EV. I love how it drives, however it has some very annoying electrical snafus on a regular basis. One is "Backup camera is unavailable." Another is Spotify just won't connect for like 5 minutes. Another is that when I go into reverse my mirrors don't tilt downward, which is a setting I have activated. These things annoy me just enough that I may consider not getting another Volvo EV. Does the Polestar have these issues? Or is their programming/electrical a different system entirely than Volvo?

PS2 owner here. I wouldn't say our PS2 does this on a regular basis, but I get the occasional flight with the tablet (Backup cam unavailable is most common). I don't use Spotify but the radio not connecting is maybe the second most common (but still rare) issue. Haven't noticed any problems with the mirrors not tilting when going into reverse, though. So yes, there is the occasional electric snafu, but maybe once every couple months or so. I know when the PS2 first came out people complained about these sorts of things (and about the phone app) but they seem to have been resolved more or less.

I would happily buy another Polestar in the future!! I just hope that the quality stays the same as it becomes more popular.

Polestar is the same company as Volvo.

Both of which are owned by Geely Holdings, which is Chinese.

The Cadillac Lyrik my cousin just bought the 2025 model is a way better car and American. Mary Barra is friends with the Biden and the Obamas if that matters.

The Polestar 3 has software issues, which are well-documented online. Each over the air update has improved this and the vehicle now is much more stable than it was when it first came out a few months ago. There will still be glitches - the software is very similar to Volvo's EVs.

But also, to the PP who said Tesla is a better value, of course it is! That's like saying why are you driving a BMW when a Kia will also drive you from A to B. Shhh, I'll let you into a little secret - Teslas are not luxury cars, not even close. So, sure it is way cheaper than Polestar but a Polestar is a luxury vehicle. It is quiet. It is substantial. It is quick, it has actual suspensions. It does not have the same software capabilities but Tesla has a big head start there and many of the benefits to Tesla software are the edge cases - I don't care if I can watch Netflix or play games on my car screen.

It was never about the environment. Everyone already knew that the most environmentally sensible thing is to maintain the car you already own indefinitely. Vehicle churn is just posing.

This. My twenty year old Toyota that I plan to keep driving until it doesn't anymore is good for the environment.
