It's not up to you or me to draw the line as to what is misbehavior. There is a legal name for the body of water in question. If you are going to have the right to ask questions of the President, you are required to use the legal name of that body of water. If you refuse to do so, how is it a violation of your First Amendment rights to deny you a permanent pass? |
I think they’re testing this because this is exactly what Ohio’s Congress is trying to pass wrt its colleges. The widening of facts and history. |
Perhaps. It is a "flex" as some would put it, but it's grounded in the law. |
He would shrivel up if everyone ignored him. |
It's a body of water. That's international. The US can call it whatever it wants but it doesn't have to be catered to internationally. It's also been referred to as the gulf of Mexico since 1600s. |
Oh, good. I like his idea of the blackout on news coverage and just suggested that in my previous post. SNL should do the same. They can make fun of other people in the admin but completely ignore T. |
This. It is an international body of water and the AP is a global news organization with bureaus all over the world. |
💯 They should. The media coverage is what he thrives on. Take it away. |
And let Trump get away with doing things without answering questions. Though they need to start asking tougher questions and having tougher followup. |
AP is a dinosaur. Totally blows!! |
Remind me where in the 1st Amendment it says you have to use legal names for things when you talk to the President specifically? Also, the quibble isn’t that they aren’t using it when talking to him. It’s that they aren’t using it in their own publications regardless of whether those refer to the President. And you know, that DC motorcyclist who flipped the bird at the President’s motorcade a few years ago won her 1st A suit. Because the 1st A protects even disrespectful speech. And speech you don’t like. And speech the President doesn’t like. |
OMG, that would be heaven. It’s not like all the never-ending criticism of him and pointing out that he’s evil is doing much good. So let’s try another tactic. Let the crazy blonde lady speak to an empty room. |
+1 The Obama administration declined to offer Fox News access to some deputy secretary of something’s press availability and every other member of the WH press corps went apeshit. |
+1 Jim Acosta and Brian Karem already won lawsuits just like this one. |
We have a major first amendment crisis taking place right now.
Between the challenge to the media, our law firms/legal institutions and the government removal of people because of their speech, our constitution is being eroded dramatically. And no one is saying a darned thing. |
