Science and religion are not mutually exclusive. It is possible to believe in both. Many notable scientists believed in God. Personally, as a Christian, I believe that God created the universe and science is how we learn about it. |
A friend told me to listen to this phd nutritionist on IG and so I did yesterday. She spends a lot of time countering MAHA, which I didn’t really understand. The comments on her post were insane. I have to say it wasn’t until yesterday that I realized how effed we truly are. A third of our population does not trust doctors, scientists, economists, professors, or the government AT ALL. I’m a skeptic myself, but I have a basic trust in the system, while realizing there are bad actor individuals and it’s a system that is corrupted by corporate interests. That doesn’t mean o throw the baby out with the bath water and get high in conspiracy theories. I don’t understand where we go from here? Bring back the fairness doctrine? Get corp $$ out of these places? |
Because why? Be specific. |
Let me remind you of rhetoric that democrats have been chanting like religious zealots: TRUST THE SCIENCE! DON’T QUESTION THE SCIENCE! SCIENCE BY CONSENSUS! DON’T BE A SCIENCE DENIER! That is the literal definition of politicizing science. |
Hey MAGAs, when is CDC planning to release the avian influenza update that was scheduled to be released nearly three weeks ago?
Gotta love censorship, right???!?? |
Yeah. No. As we are finding out, our “funding for research” has been nothing but funding very wealthy universities overhead, not actual research. NIH stopped being science based a while back and needs a complete overhaul. |
+1,000,000 — Pharma owns the AMA. |
Well you’ll see from the post above yours they do not care. Bird flu isn’t real. Bird flu was leaked. Eventual bird flu vaccines are trash. Injecting bleach cures bird flu because our dear leader said so. People dying of bird flu will be denying they have it. Science is trash. Repeat. |
News Flash: 1. Stop consuming garbage. 2. Learn to build your immunity. |
The scare-mongering will continue until morale, or at least funding, improves. |
Wow, so the opposite of that is to trust Trump. Mmmmokay. |
there isn't immunity to new viruses, that has to be built and as it happens, many die in the process. That is science. |
Wow, talk about stretching to incredulity. |
CDC is updating its outbreak map https://www.cdc.gov/bird-flu/situation-summary/data-map-commercial.html
At least, assuming the date showing indicates a real update and not just created via current date. There's also a dashboard maintained by a redditor (recently furloughed from a job involving international development) on H5N1_avianflu sub. He was getting data from CDC, USDA, and news reports but had said he would use state level data if those sources dried up. His dashboard is more useful to a layperson and is definitely updated (you can see his data tables and when a report occurred) https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/danielrsummers/viz/H5N1ReassortmentRiskDec_122024/H5N1FullDashboard |
Yes. |
