call your mother

OP here - I live within walking distance, so yes that it part of why I’ll miss it, but I do love their bagels and bagel sandwiches. I’m especially a fan of the whitefish salad there (which is disgusting at Bethesda Bagels). I hope they relocate on the Woodmont Triangle side of Bethesda!

On a side note, I had the best egg cheese and challah sandwich ever at Cracked Eggery in Cleveland Park. Would pick that over Call your Mother any day, I find the bagels way too dense for my liking.

Call Your Mother is awful, I agree.

Does anyone know if they have plans for a new spot in Bethesda? (please don’t respond with the Pike & Rose spot - that is Rockville no matter that some developer decided to call it “North Bethesda”).

As if you are too good to drive two miles

It is a joke silly. You must not be Jewish or from NY!

I really like their sun city sandwich with pastrami.

They did some work on the physical site at the Bethesda Community Store. Why would they leave? Always packed when I would drive by.

The name doesn't bother me, in fact, my mother used to say it to me (I'm Jewish and from NY). Not a fan of the bagels. I also didn't like their latkes. I tried 2 different locations a few times. I wanted to like it but just couldn't.

Better than Bethesda Bagels but I still miss Bagel City

Thier bagels are extremely disappointing on their own, but I like their bagel sandwiches.

I don't like their bagels and I might like their sandwiches, but their bagels are so dense they seem impossible to eat.

This is a "leaner" one:

How do you even eat some of these?

The menu is good, but the bagels are God awful. I actually don’t know how you mess up a bagel that badly. Best bagels in DC are P st bagels in DuPont. Haven’t found anything else comparable.
