How can Elon place people on admin leave?

This is extreme for sure, but it is always how things have worked when a new president comes in. It’s just not ever been this fast.

the president has to follow the laws. The president cannot just do whatever be wants.

Really?
Doesn’t seem like it anymore.

This is not that hard to understand and I don't understand how we have adults who don't understand what is happening.

Musk has political appointees on his side. They manage the agency and pull the legal levers when he asks them to. You may not like it. But it isn't the same thing as Musk himself directing an agency.

-100. we can all see that this is not happening at all. Again the president must follow the law.

This is extreme for sure, but it is always how things have worked when a new president comes in. It’s just not ever been this illegal or by people who have no idea what they are doing or who have major conflicts of interest or are the richest person in the world or who are fueled by Ketamine or who just recently gave the Nazi salute or who are huge internet trolls or who took over a social media platform for his own benefit which has become a toxic cesspool of racism and hate.

There. I fixed it for you.

Several lawsuits in the works/filed as of today. A bit late, but better than nothing. We'll see what happens.

That ship sailed on Nov 6, 2024. Now, he will do whatever the hell he wants because who will enforce the laws???

They also pull the levers illegally when he asks them to and eventually it may catch up to them all. But regardless, yeah, Elon’s not in there cutting SF-50s. He gets people with authority to cooperate because they want to, or because he threatens them, or because if they refuse he finds someone to put them on leave and moves on to someone who will do as he says.

And Trump supports him. And they all know it.

The Trump admin has brilliant lawyers working for them to make this operation as legal as possible. And how hard is it to establish a "Special Assistant to the President" position and put him on nominal salary? Not hard. This kind of thing is done in my state's government all the time. Some industry stooge is suddenly a "Special Assistant to the Governor."

They don’t have brilliant lawyers. No one was left to work for them after so many got disbarred defending the bogus election fraud claims.

+1. There’s lots of crazy sh*t going on. Complaining about Musk putting people on admin leave is a waste of time and energy.

Lol no, I think if one thing is clear, it’s that Trump has no brilliant lawyers who work for him. Certainly not in DOGE.

Because Trump and the GOP are allowing him to do whatever he wants, laws and the constitution be damned.
