PP here. I've changed my tune, came to find it very compelling by the end of ep 2. |
It so good. Plot moves quickly and isn’t predictable! |

He’s so likable, I’ve never run into anyone that feels that way. Curious why you have such a strong negative feeling?
Perhaps it was the role not the actor. Felt the same about Isaiah Washington in Grey's Anatomy.
Hahah I hope this is a troll because I don’t just think it’s the role . . .
Not a troll. I don't feel that way about other black actors. Those two irritate me. |

As to Sterling, I tried watching the first episode of Paradise, but it feels so sterile to me. None of his warmth is coming across yet. Not sure I want to try again. |
We are watching it with our teenage son and we are all loving it! It's led to some great conversations so far and it feels like every episode gets better. I'm excited for the new episode coming out later this week.
Side note: I was not a This is Us fan at all--due to the writing feeling a touch emotionally manipulative to me--and I only watched a few episodes before bailing. I didn't really have an opinion of Sterling K. Brown at the time but I absolutely love him in this. He's got a wonderful presence and has the ability to let so many emotions flicker across his face--I love that. |
+1 I enjoy how our impressions of the characters change with each episode as more information is revealed. It's very entertaining, although I wish I had waited to watch until all the episodes dropped. I hate waiting for the next episode to be available. |
Anyone else annoyed by their use of slow version of rock songs at the end of each episode? Like Eye of the Tiger last week. I find it cloying. |
I actually love this. They usually play the regular version earlier in the episode in a non-ironic way, then the later version hits differently because of what's going on in the episode. For me, it's a fun layer ... and a chance to think a little harder about those 1980s songs that I've heard so many times I don't usually listen to them anymore. |
I love it too! |
OK, I have been curious, so I flipped it on last night after my husband started sawing logs.
I watched 2 episodes and wanted to keep going, but it was past midnight and I have to be at work today ![]() |
DH and I have been watching. The writing is pretty decent but I wish there was more sci-fi. I can tell it has the same creator as "This Is Us" because of all the flashbacks. I agree with the above that it's hard to see this lasting for more than one or two seasons. |
Yes, that presence. I find him incredibly hot. |
If anyone wants to see a show that has a much more riveting view of multi-generational life underground after an apocalypse, check out Silo on Apple TV+. I'm just watching Paradise until the next season of Silo comes out. |
I'll have to try that one, too |
