I don’t care about personal stuff. I am a woman. I hated Biden. He has a long history of wars breaking out, including Iraq. I care more about foreign policy and people dying rather than what most men have done in their personal lives if they are of a certain age.

Like breaking the law? That's okay, huh. It's personal.

Trump isn’t a Republican

My spouse is a liberal, always has been. I used to be a R, now Independent.

In the past, we have voted for opposing candidates. That was fine. We respect each other enough.

But, Trump is a whole different animal. He is not a R. He's a populist who stokes racism, sexism, and just general hatred for anyone who doesn't agree with the MAGA base.

So, yea, I would have serious issues if my spouse, R or otherwise, supported Trump.

Thankfully, we both agree that he's a danger to this country and an awful human being.

Also, I'm the wife.

There’s also social media and a 24/7 news cycle nowadays.

Many couples did in the past. But Trump is different. Personally if my spouse was a Trump supporter, I’d divorce and my spouse feels the same way

I disagree. I know couples where one is a Trump supporter and the other is not. Very high income. No one is getting divorced over this.

Kellyann did.

Good example.

They officially divorced?

I dated a Republican almost 30 years ago (yeah, I'm old). Clinton was president, his scandal was all over the news...but we just never talked politics. It was fine.

Now I'm married to a fellow Dem, I have no idea what her husband is, but they named their firstborn Monica.

There's opposite views like Stevenson vs Eisenhower or Kennedy vs Nixon or even Kerry vs Bush abd then there's batshit crazy sociopathy.,

People try to make about the individual person. I wouldn’t associate with anyone who supported the same or similar beliefs.

I normally agree with this, but with my xH it went WAY beyond just opposite political beliefs. He would scream at me if I had any differing opinion and would stay up all night watching alt right YouTube videos. From what I’ve seen that happens a lot when men get sucked into MAGA and alt right.

Why I’m grateful to be married to a foreign woman who is more conservative than me

You know nothing about history. Okay. Leaders who vote for wars that destory nations...not okay with me. I don't care about individuals' sex lives. I care about life and death and the effects of destroying countries. Iraq was first. Two other major wars broke out when Biden was in office. He should have never been in politics so long.

No. It is his personal life. Many people do worse and never get caught yet. I care more about people's lives and countries than what happened to one woman because I am a grown adult and not a middle schooler. And yes, I have been sexually assaulted.

This. No way I would’ve dated/married someone who had no moral compass in the first place.
