Jeff Cup- Girls

Rumor is the Jeff Cup organizers don’t like SYC, even though SYC u11 is ranked #1 in VA, they were placed lower than London and Bethesda.

SYC is going to burn too fast and too bright and fall like a shooting star does. The institutional support for a sustained program is not there.

I will also not discount that their 2012 girls are very talented. Cannot speak to the MLSN side other than any kid I have know who has gone after U12 has moved on because the organizational integrity and coaching leaves much to be desired. The teams are winning but is the structure there for outplacement, college recruiting, Academy placement is still TBD.

Tell me you care about GS points without understanding that they are only accumulated because you self paid for 10 tournaments over the last year to goose your points. To be ranked #1 in VA

Surprised how arl 2012 are 3rd bracket.

That ARL team has been underperforming, but agree that they should be in the 2nd bracket. Not sure why Jeff Cup would have moved FVU up to 2nd bracket, and ARL down to 3rd. The two teams are essentially even in the ECNL standings and ARL had a better performance at WAGS.

In the standings FVU is 2nd and Arlington is 5th, so I guess Jeff Cup appropriately placed a 5th place team

That seems far away from a tie?

No one likes SYC. That's a fact.

Union and Arlington are 7-2 and 7-2-1. Top 5 in the 2012 ECNL standings are all within 1 game. Depends on the team parent who decides to complain or boast about placement.

Compare common opponent and you clearly see the difference.

The sad part is you actually believe bracket placement at an 11 years old’s tournament is validation of how great your kid is going to be at soccer. You have no idea

2012s are in top bracket other than that team you may be right

I played along and checked it out. I'm not even sure which team you're trying to back with this statement. Fortunately for you, it turns out they play each other in just a week and maybe that will go the way you think it will and provide you with some validation for whichever one your DD plays for.

What team are you talking about, because the recent conversation was about Arlington 2012 and they are in the 3rd division not the top

SYC 2012

SYC top teams are seeded in a few of the top divisions:
2016 - 1st
2015 - 1st
2014 - 3rd
2013 - 2nd
2012 - 1st
2011 - 4th

Maybe Bethesda is the only DMV club that has more 1st division seeded teams.

They’re fine.

What about 2010-2007? Those are the only ages that bracket placement actually matters.

I see their favorite teams are Striker and Loudoun, Both teams should be placed in the brackets below SYC, Arlington, and McLean.
