But until the city can get the majority of side streets plowed, there's no way DCPS is opening tomorrow. From my limited observation, very few of them have even seen a plow.

The Obama years-he made a comment about closing for only a little snow and after that, they stopped.

Yeah. That was tone deaf. He wanted DC to be able to clear snow like Chicago and didn’t understand we can skip the investment in all the extra snow moving equipment and let it melt in a couple days.

I was just thinking that 🤣

By Tuesday afternoon there was not enough snow to sled and by the time school opened on Wednesday there was essentially no snow left.

Yeah, we had a huge warmup right after the 2016 storm and the snow disappeared quickly. The snow from this storm isn't going anywhere unless it's plowed away.

When will DCPS make a decision?
Anonymous
I bet it’s a 5 am decision.

Mayor Bowser said in person on News4 this afternoon that the call will be made "early this evening."

That’s fine I’ve made my decision NOT to go in regardless ✌🏾

“Early this evening” - isn’t that now?

Wow. I didn't realize how uniquely unplowed NE Capitol Hill was, because none of the streets right around us have been plowed at all... but the map actually reflects that and it's pretty unusual.

Just make a decision already so we can plan for WFH vs delay and late commute. UGH!

Narrow streets and everyone street parks makes it much harder to navigate. We're just north if the Hill but have seen plows twice today. But most people on our street have off street parking and our street is a lot wider than most CH streets.
