Will FCPS have a day off on Jan 9 (federal holiday)?

No, FCPS does not take unscheduled federal holidays off. In previous years, we have not had Veteran's Day off. This was the first school year that the kids didn't have school on Veteran's Day while I've had kids in FCPS.

Not sure what planet you’re on, but FCPS was closed for Veterans Day last month. I know because we had our school ceremony on Friday, November 8. We couldn’t do it on the 11th because school was closed.

I grant you that middle America doesn’t need the school day off, but nearby counties do as people will be traveling to DC to visit the Capitol to mourn.
