Georgia only took kids with 1530+ from our Big3 private.

WOWZERS!!! If what it takes to get into UGA out of state is a 1530 or higher, that's incredible! That's in the 99th percentile of all test takers and is not far off from the median at Yale, Princeton and MIT!

What it takes to get into UGA early. Many UGA deferrals turn into acceptances in RD and those numbers will go down quite a bit. Happens every year.

Doesn't matter. My DD weighted is 4.62 and she was deferred UGA. You need almost all A's to get into UGA early action. So close to a 4.0 UW. My other kids got in there and went with a 3.9.

And UNC is a massive reach as is UT.

PP is right that UGA is def possible RD

What range? For UNC? No.

+ 1

RD or EA? This year? They do care more about grades than tests.

Not getting into UT or UNC. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t get into Georgia either.

This is not true at all at our oos public, that took over 10 kids at EA this year.
Kids with 1400, 1410, 1420 got in...and none of them had 4.0s either.
Schools are not all equal - UGA has always liked our school and maybe they know the yield is high. Or maybe, like Graves says, the SAT/ACT is actually the least important thing he reviews.

Don't be too fixated on the SAT. Look at the rigor, UGA GPA and what they can add to the school.

Not for schools like UNC and UT Austin which have very tough OOS admits. UNC OOS requires Ivy level stats

EA

Don’t know about UGA and UNC, but UT admissions is heavily influenced by consideration of fit to major, especially for OOS.

UNC CH only takes 10% out of state by law (and that includes athletes)- not getting in.

OP, this decision is made *once* admitted. Only then.

Don't bother till then.

Likely wouldn’t get into UT in-state, let alone oos. UNC 100% no. UGA possible.

It’s 82% in state, 18% out of state
