Restored husband's broken phone and discovered things I don't want to know...

Anonymous
He lost his phone overseas and hasn't been home to get the new one. There are people who are trying to reach him, so of course I'm helping to reorient those messages to other channels. As for what I've read, it's a shocking mix of crass talk with certain buddies interspersed with messages to different people he meets on his trips that leave me wondering who is this guy?

Good grief--not a troll. Just a wife trying to reconcile my experience with the man I know and the man who talks like a truck driver to some of his buddies. It's gross.

So your husband swears while texting with friends? Who cares?

Well if he's saying "breaker breaker, looks like we got us a convoy" you have to divorce him.

DH here: IME, all men have an inner truck driver. It's not deceptive to be discreet about that since he knows you'd find it gross.

Do you really think I would be stressed by a few f-bombs? Please. I'm not going to post the lurid details, but it's obviously a major departure from our interactions, and those I see him have with close friends and family.

Anonymous wrote:DH here: lol. This is clearly a guy who is not cheating, but has some opinions he is discreet about, apparently for good reason. He might even—-heaven forfend—dislike Kamala Harris. FWIW, I would not take it too literally when he banters over text with his guy friends, much of it is tongue in cheek in my experience.

This. A woman.

Is he on the down low? Cheating? Those are the only two that would make me lose respect.

Interesting data point, and just very depressing because it means even the seemingly good guys have no respect for women.

Is he talking like a trucker driver (which implies swearing and maybe being a little more crass) or is he saying sexist things, making fun and putting down women, and things like that?

Didn’t happen.

I’m a little surprised about this happening over text than when they get together.

Sorry OP! That has to be gut wrenching to find out info about a partner like that - I hope you are able to talk to him about what you saw and how it made you feel and hear from him about it too.

Maybe he's a complete d*ck to his coworkers?
