+1000 to this. This needs elevation.

Insiders call this the Moran move. Peter’s grandfather did this when he was in Mcps CO, and young Pete keeps up the family tradition.

What????

They care mostly about optics. They pretend it's about the kids but it's political. I'm so tired of it. The anti-racism seems to be working in reverse in many instances, but hey, if the data looks good then everything is okay. Unfortunately, while some data might be improving, tests scores and reading levels are plummeting and morale is lower than ever.

I would have moved the Wheaton principal to WJ, WJ to QO, and QO to Wooten. I would draft a new principal for Wheaton from PG County and hire the permanent Wheaton principal for a new role at HQ

That makes no sense.

Exactly. Why disrupt three schools unless needed. Someone from CO should have stepped in temporarily and determined if any of the APs was viable as an interim with support from CO.

Can never forget the N* word golden tickets they were handing out at Churchill.

What should they have done?

You have completely invented a narrative that did not exist.

These racists know exactly what they are doing. They cannot accept their White principal is being replaced by a Black principal. A Black principal at Wootton? They are going crazy. See what's being posted and especially this post:

It's never about caring for Black people or Black kids.

Continued to ignore the anti-Black incidents and clap for Doug so that white and Asian Wootton parents could be happy and feel better about themselves.

Did you forget that Kim Bolden was the Black principal before Doug Nelson?

Do we actually know this is a permanent move?

I think I may have missed something but isn't it the case that they took a principal-in-training and put him into a temporary position where they had a sudden need?

This seems like a rationale move, if for logistical purposes if nothing else. And if Doug Nelson is actually out permanently, then there would be a search for a new principal to begin next fall?

Or do I have it wrong?

You are correct (new principals would usually begin July 1).

Northwood High School is a majority minority school (more black and brown than white and asian), statistically one of the lower performing schools in the district. This school does not have a super active parent community.
Wootton High School is a majority majority school (more asian and white than black and brown), statistically one of the higher performing schools in the district. This school does have a super active parent community.

The high performing white school has a racist incident against black kids, so MCPS takes a beloved, award winning, minority administrator from the minority school and moves him to the white school with the more vocal parent community.

Looks like MCPS practicing systemic racism in real time. Who cares about the KIDS at Northwood when you need to pretend to attempt to satisfy the parents at Wootton.

That's a pretty blatant and brazen racist act by mcps. Guess it really does pay to go to a W school.

It's classism. This move is about catering to wealthier black and "brown" activists boosting their own political careers. (Indians aren't brown, apparently!)

White and Asian parents don't want this BS.

Tell the kids at Northwood to write the N-word on a wall, and maybe they'll get Bosric back.

Another school with a black principal had an N-word appear, so I expect that school to collapse into a paradox of the space-time continuum.

TL;DR: Ma'am, this is a Wendy's. Please get a job or a hobby.

1. The only thing the white/asian families care about is how Wootton is being labeled anti-black and racist when the accused are BLACK. There hasn’t been a white or Asian student accused of any racist acts.

2. It isn’t like the principal was beloved, but damn they did him dirty and there was NO communication to Wootton families. About of news outlets and social media posted more than we knew.

3. We had a black principal prior to Nelson.

4. If there was TRULY caring for the black community, especially in underserved areas, shouldn’t Bostic have stayed at Northwood?

I mean come on already. The bogus PR stunt of crying racism to an entire school is blowing back up in your face.
