Mcps Dine with Dignity fundraiser

How can families see how much lunch debt each school has? Did you find out any further info, OP?

I am also curious. I would like to donate on behalf of my organization, to a specific school, but don't see where online I have the option to do so. It's just the general donation fund. I also tried calling the number listed, 301-329-2238, and had no luck. Just a busy dial tone and it hangs up. Curios to know if OP or others have had any luck.

I think it's fine.

Op here and I saw that, but it doesn’t answer how much of my dollar goes to paying off school debt. I’m just curious I know they are a legitimate charity.

Per the previous poster, 22 cents out of every dollar goes to overhead. One direct employee makes $125 K.

No accounting for how much of any gift goes to pay off debt. Could be zero.
Foundation pays for perks for MCPS administrators.

That's for the whole foundation, not this one program.

Are you just making up lies to discourage people from paying for food for children? Why?

I guess this is where that overhead goes. Dealing with people who want a charitable organization to be their personal concierge service.

This list of debt does not make sense. White Oak Middle School offers free breakfast and lunch to all students so how can there be $11k in debt?

When did White Oak START serving free breakfast and lunch? "Debt" means PAST due.

I know meals have been free since at least the 2023-2024 school year. Possibly even earlier.

As explained ON THE WEBSITE, that still leave many years of debt

And includes these funds. They do not account for funds donated to this program.

The website is a bit out of date. They no longer offer direct ability to donate to a single school, but you can name a school in the note attached to a donation.
