Was there bacon? I can eat enough bacon to make it worthwhile. |
When I was on corporate business, I would skip Marriott breakfast buffet and go to McDonald's. Better, faster, cheaper and left more per diem money for a nice dinner. |
I can't do the buffet every day. The last hotel we went to was $47 for the buffet. There was a Starbucks in the basement and we ended up there mostly for a breakfast sandwich and beverage. |
Typically, no, I wouldn't pay this much on vacation. But we paid $25pp at our Disney Tokyo hotel for our family of 6. And, it was totally worth it b/c Tokyo is expensive, there weren't any other decent breakfast choices nearby, it saved a ton of time, the buffet was amazing and the kids tried so many foods they wouldn't otherwise have tried, and it kept us full until dinner, other than a mid-day snack. |
I did not watch the video but there are plenty of times I have paid that much for a hotel breakfast. I don't think it is reasonable, but it is convenient |
An egg salad sando at 7-11 is a much better Tokyo option (and they are everywhere) |
Going out to breakfast at a restaurant costs about that much. Maybe $5 less? But a hotel buffet costs less than room service. |
I had the breadcrumbed chicken sandwich there for lunch about $3. It was pretty good. |
Sit down maybe. But if you find a coffee shop, bakery or quick service egg sandwich will be less. We would only do the buffet if we planned to eat a ton and then skip lunch. Otherwise its going to spoil lunch anyway. |
Part of the fun of travel is finding non-chain, local bakeries and cafes imho. Don’t settle for hotel food. Ask Siri, “Doughnuts near me?” |
What hotels have buffets for $25? The buffet is usually $45. I typically order a la carte. |
Agree, $25 is pretty cheap for a full hotel buffet, these days they are more like $35-55, and brunch buffets are like $80. |
Truth. I drink my calories. IYKYK. |
Same. I often factor this into hotel choice-- is breakfast included and if not are there cafes or bakeries walking distance so we can get breakfast easily. I consider that am essential amenity because it makes travel with kids much easier if you can have breakfast fairly easily after getting up. When they were very little we'd bring cereal in a Tupperware in our bag and buy a small thing of milk and give them that upon waking just because it cuts back on complaining to have that familiar routine available. |
