I know a happy HB Woodlawn kid at Clark.
Maybe Wheaton? |
Please, only Trumpers use that word as an attempt to demean liberals. Liberals are concerned with being informed, educated and empathetic. But we don't say"woke". |
Seattle mom here and was about to chime in with Whitman. |
| Merrimack, Bentley, Stonehill, Assumption, or Endicott in MA |
| My DS is at UMass, and I definitely think it is a hidden gem. He is in a terrific program there and recently earned a spot in a really good lab abroad. He is in STEM, and they offer many opportunities for the students to excel (recitation and review sessions, etc.). |
| Clark and Brandeis in MA |
+1 if you are using that word you aren't qualified to attend college. |
I have been recommending UMass to multiple friends lately. I think it is a very underrated school. |
|
Agree with U.Denver, Gonzaga, Puget Sound, Whitman.
I don't thank any of the MA college are 'hidden" if you live in the DCUM area. And frankly, any college in MA going to be good. |
| so many great little schools in MA |
| I suggest Lewis & Clark in Oregon as hidden gem and Wilamette - close enough to Washington. Would also suggest Babson and again not in Mass but Bennington in VT |
Whitman is in Walla Walla, WA. It's a small town--population 33K---in the middle of nowhere. It's a place people go for 2-3 days to wine taste, eat good food and then get out of there to get back to the west side of the mountains (Seattle area). Definately visit and make sure your kid knows what they are getting themselves into---because it's a small school in an isolated area. Great school---but I've know several kids attend and then realize it's not for them because of how isolated it is. |
Me too, might be the same kid. |
For social sciences, UW if you want large, Denver if you want midsize, Puget Sound if you want small. (UW can be pretty cutthroat in engineering/CS and, especially, premed, but not in the humanities or social sciences.) |
| We looked at Regis in Denver for direct-admit nursing. It was surprisingly nice and they gave a ton of merit aid (for a not-that-great student). The dining hall was beautiful. |
