Impact of McLean/Langley boundary change on McLean real estate choice

Anonymous
McLean/Langley/Marshall boundaries are projected to change significantly. See Mateo Dunne’s latest missive.

What a strange question in the first place, traitor.

Zero self awareness.

DP, but I’ve talked to some Langley parents who live fairly close to Langley say they can understand if FCPS decides to reassign the Langley kids who currently live out towards Loudoun (now that Herndon got such a big expansion). They don’t think of themselves as traitors, just realists.

But op is in the zone that will get redistricted. If she thinks it’s logical then why would anyone want to help her?

Sounds like OP is thinking about a house in McLean and wanting reassurance that western McLean isn’t at risk even if a big chunk of McLean HS were to move to Langley HS.

I don’t think many expect any McLean neighborhoods now at Langley to get moved. The issue is more Great Falls.

What? Who cares. It is logical to rezone that area. OP doesn’t control that. She just wants her child to stay at the school. That is a normal parenting thing. You are an odd duck.

I’d she thinks it is logical to rezone, why in the world would she want to stay put. Pain for other kids but not my kid is the epitome of disgusting. If she wants her kid to stay at the school so badly, she can figure it out.

That’s not what his newsletter says, and none of the examples in the newsletter specifically relate to those pyramids. You’re just trying to stir people up.

That is what she is doing. Again, you are a weirdo.

I think it is quite logical for that entire boundary between the schools to be redrawn.

Can someone tell me how I can avoid that totally logical move?

You didn’t read his statement about split feeders very carefully. Reading is a skill, dodo.

Nice misdirection. The fact is, all those boundaries are in play.

It’s only logical, right OP?

Not OP. It is logical that the boundaries would change. It is also logical that OP would like to find a house that will continue to be zoned for Langley so her child can stay with friends. This does not one a traitor. It makes one someone who cares about her child.

It makes her someone who thinks that other kids are expendable as long as her kid is fine. If she omitted the thing about being logical, I would have been more inclined to be sympathetic.

But if you all think it’s everyone for themselves, good luck. We’ve already figured out our response to such a “logical” move. Good luck finding a solution. We’ve been staring at the maps for months and crafted our plan over the summer, and many people are way more ahead of the curve. You’re probably too late to save your daughter, OP.

Logically, I’m sure she’ll be fine starting over at the new school, whatever that is.

FYI, every person thinks about themselves. Altruism is not really a thing.

It isn’t that hard to move to a house in the Langley district. There is not need to “craft a plan.”

OP - tell me your budget. I will make suggestions. Langley Oaks and the townhouses kind of behind Langley Farms are some of the more economical options.

Great, so OP can fend for herself.

Good luck! It took a while to gather the relevant info and run the scenarios.

If you read the information that was provided, they said boundary changes wouldn't happen until 2026 at the earliest.
