Funny how APE is silent on this...

Isn’t Dorothy Hamm NEW? And Montessori needs to be eliminated anyway.

How about this — they get a refund for all the money they wasted on VPL. Use that.

Troll.

I’m voting no because the majority of this bond is going to a new building for an option school. Just like the last one.

Seats are seats. The students are APS students.

They don’t need the seats.

Can anyone point to any evidence that in the last fifty years Arlington voters have ever rejected a school bond request?

Your vote on this is about as significant as voting for president in Massachusetts.

But, yes, do your homework and vote!?!?

It hasn’t ever happened. I’m still voting no but it makes absolutely no difference

Sorry, but anyone who wants Montessori can go private.

So then we’d need the money to add seats elsewhere.

Wait, isn’t enrollment projected to go DOWN? Isn’t that why Nottingham was proposed to be a swing space?

Why add more seats when we are discussing closing a school?

Because APS wastes the money on frivolous projects and positions, rather than funding things that would actually make a difference.

How about they show some accountability first — that they can spend the money they’ve been given wisely — before asking for more.

The operating budget is public.

This bond is to update some facilities.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

Because these bonds are always approved by voters there is no fear from the school board on them. They need to feel like they might not get approved to show some fiscal restraint. They spend at will and are irresponsible. Vote no. It will pass. But out the fear of God in them.

APS needs repairs to existing buildings. They do not need new seats. I’m voting no.

It is not irresponsible to update the kitchen and HVACs in schools?

WTF is wrong with you people?

Dorothy Hamm is a largely original 75 year old junior high school building. (But with a really nice, state of the art addition.)

So an example of wasteful spending?

Except that’s not what they’ll do. They’ll create a new building for Montessori.
