Wondering...what tournaments and/or teams do they play? Or don't they do too much of that (hence their low price)?
Do they play in CHC? Play against other mid-tier teams?

DD's team last year played tournaments against various teams(x factor, a bunch of MD teams, bryc, etc) and I don't recall ever seeing VV on any of the courts.

It could have been different tournaments or just a different pool. I recall them playing local teams like X Factor, No Panic, Platform Black, MDJrs Open, Loudoun Elite, Mojo off the top of my head.

My DD was in one of the teams mentioned above and I can confirm that we played against VV. They obviously played against other teams that were part of the tournament. They fought hard.

It's hard to beat for the price but if money is no object then there might be better options.

NP and they are suggesting you try any more expensive clubs if you can afford it. My daughter tried out at VV. Later it was obvious that many of the returning players were getting the offers. The tryouts really didn’t matter. You might get lucky but don’t expect a spot based on skill. They will take returning players they know over more advanced players they don’t know. Competition will be harder for the older teams because some of the girls have played for the club even longer.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is a volunteer run organization and noone is doing this to maximize profits or anything like that.
They are not concerned with their win/loss record enough to cut a kid over a marginally better player.
So like the above poster said, noone really seems to get kicked off the team.

If you just want some volleyball between high school seasons, this is a good option if you can get a spot.
If you want a full service organization with a dedicated facility and highly competitive play, this may not be the organization for you.
A lot depends on what you are looking for.

I thought you will be offering some alternatives, but I also appreciate the additional thoughts. A lot of clubs will give priority to their returning players over a better player (not even marginally better). We had a player who sat on the bench for most of the JV season and she got back on her club team. My DD was a starter on the JV team and she was not offered a position on that team. Some clubs know that they are the "safe option" for good players and don't even bother offering them positions. Offering a spot to such a player may keep other players on the waitlist: these players may choose other teams by the 10 pm deadline, so the club may lose them.

I've been told that nothing helps volleyball development like spending winter vacation in brazil doing beach volleyball.
To turbocharge the volleyball development, hire her a surfing instructor so she can develop her lat muscles.

There should be some mechanism where you can tell a team you will accept their offer if you are selected immediately after the tryout and if you don't you're on the hook for the a deposit of something.

You can tell a coach that the club is your top choice. The club can assume that an offer - if extended - would be immediately accepted. However, clubs must know that some players lie when this issue comes up (these threads describe quite a few instances when the parents advise their players not to tell the truth). A player going down that road may sit on the offer until Tuesday at 10 before making a decision. The club will likely not offer them a future position on their roster though.
