| It would have been a completely different proposition if she had come to DC (or in hindsight, going to see her in Philly or even NY). But now the ticket prices are nuts and it's a plane and multiple nights in a hotel. |
| I don't know about going to concerts, but the Taylor Swift trend among elementary girls and their moms is weird. With the huge uptick in swear words and the controversy with Kelce, I don't really see her as a great role model for very young girls. |
So you're a no, then. |
What controversy is there with Kelce?? |
😂 😂 😂 |
I went twice to Eras and spent under $300 a ticket, great seats |

I took my elm. daughters - and we went to Europe for the show because it truly was way less expensive and we got a good trip out of it.
Currently, it is possible to go last minute with obstructed view tickets going for as low as $49.00 the week of the show, you just have to be lucky and fast to snag them before the resellers grab them. The expensive part can be the hotels and travel - but several families I know tried for last minute tickets in cities where they have family so that they could stay with relatives. It is possible to go for less extreme amounts of money. We are also not in a place to pay the current resale prices - they are insane. I took my girls because I think this is going to be a tour that is talked about for decades - like if my parents had gone as children to see the Beatles, or had taken me to see Madonna in the 80s. They loved it and we had a great time for under 3000k It's fun and memorable, if you can find a good deal, why not! |
Same. I am the PP. Took kids in Paris for under $200 per ticket, amazing seats. Also went with friends and won lottery to buy tickets at face value at the beginning of the tour. Had good seats for under $300 each and we had six people. |
| Circumstances vary widely. If you got lucky and got tickets during the lottery, you are only looking at a couple hundred per ticket. That makes it very manageable. If you are looking aftermarket, it’s a whole lot more. We took our ES DD twice - once in the US and once in Europe and had a great time without spending anymore than we would for comparable domestic and international vacations |
| I took my then 8 year old daughter to the tour. I was able to get original tickets so the price wasn’t crazy but they were really high up. The echoing from screaming fans was so loud that she had to leave after the first song (even with ear plugs- we had unfortunately forgotten the over the ear headphones). So, if you do go, bring headphones but remember someone could get sick or whatever and you’re out $7-8k for this one night. |
Honestly, it's the loudest thing most people have ever heard in real life. My DD is really sensitive to that, so I don't think we would risk it even with the big noise mufflers. |
Really? I didn't think it was louder than any other concert |
This is OP. I am not crying about it. I am asking if this is something other people are seeing in their elementary schools; specifically the expensive resale tickets. If I had the opportunity to go within driving distance for a couple of hundred bucks I would. |
This doesn't happen at our elementary school, and I think a lot of parents would have the resources to make it happen. |
Yes, more than a handful of my DD's friends (3rd graders) have been or are going. Some of them more than once. About 50/50 Europe vs. US. I went without my kids and loved it, but I think it would have been really long for them (both the concert itself and the day-of logistics, transportation, crowds, etc.). A lot of the younger kids around our seats were crashing and/or left early. (I didn't think it was overly loud.) |
