Wool winter coat that does not wrinkle?

I might be willing to pay more than $200 for a quality wool coat.

However, my point in asking, is that most coats I'm seeing are "wool blends," not 100% Italian lambswool.

Perhaps like with Ugg boots and leather jackets, 100% wool coats are no longer in fashion due to hurting lambs or something.

That's why I'm asking.

Hurting lambs? LMAO - hardly anyone gives a damn about that!

I have never had a wool coat wrinkle. I usually get from Jcrew or Calvin Klein. Not that high end.

J Crew and Calvin Klein are both brands that I would most likely trust. I could probably try them on the store. Thank you.

Go to Macy's for Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Ann Klein, DKNY, etc good selection

Looks nice, but what it is made of is not so great. Even more interesting is how they don’t indicate the % of the material used. Shell: wool, polyester, rayon; lining: polyester
This is a cheap version of a Ralph Lauren. So many brands have done this.

J Crew and Calvin Klein are sadly not what they used to be.

What you want is a heavier wool, which will be wrinkle-resistant. Lighter wools or blends will wrinkle more easily.

Was this that hard? Did you really need to crowdsource this?

OP,

You're got some weird preconceived notions.

I shop on Poshmark all the time (except for unmentionables). They have stuff that's "new with tags". The "used" are usually in very good condition, and if not, the flaws are pointed out. Last year I bought a vintage 100% wool coat in a gorgeous deep teal color that's flawless. Less than $100.

The only reason to buy 100% wool over a blend is that usually it's warmer. But if you want really warm (I have to wait outside for my DD's horse back riding lesson in the winter, in the evening, and I'm freezing), you should get a long puffer coat. No wool is going to be sufficient. I won't suggest fur coats for this area...

Nothing wool or wool blend coat of mine has ever wrinkled. I don't even understand how that's possible. The material should be too thick to do that. Unless the reviewer meant folds in the fabric from shipping that they could have iron out?

OP here. I forgot to add that I'm a little over 5'3", and I need a petite size. The styles at Macy's seem to work okay with petite sizes.

I was shocked at how completely disgusting Burlington Coat Factory is now. It used to be a very decent place, almost like a department store, to buy coats. They were probably on sale for being a past season.

I bought ski jackets and ski pants there. A leather blazer. A really nice black trench coat with a removable fur liner. I wore that coat a lot. It was great. And of course, I had a very nice long black wool coat. The coats were in petite size.

OP how old are you? Because I’m in my 40s and Burlington Coat Factory has NEVER been like a nice department store.

DP. Nice in 1980s, 1990s

They used to have high quality no brand merchandise and T.J. Maxx type access to true high end brands.

I once bought a no brand but nice petite raincoat at Burlington that was so nice that I had a whole conversation with a petite nurse about it during a visit to a University health service. It was so difficult to find petite coats back then and Burlington had them. The nurse shyly asked if she could try my coat on for size and I let her without thinking that was totally weird. Because I've been that desperate. Am again now actually.

The last time I bought something at Burlington was a stockpile of Liz Claiborne black pleather handbags that actually had great styles. The brand was not in fashion but the bags were good looking (plain black, no logo), had convenient compartments, and looked real until you got your nose right up to them. That was about 15 years ago.

Yes, you need a petite size. I don't understand what you mean by "almost like a department store". Department stores are not necessarily paragons of quality, and as you know, there's department store and department store. Unless you meant Von Maur, Saks, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's? And even then...
