OP how old are you? Because I’m in my 40s and Burlington Coat Factory has NEVER been like a nice department store.
DP. Nice in 1980s, 1990s They used to have high quality no brand merchandise and T.J. Maxx type access to true high end brands. I once bought a no brand but nice petite raincoat at Burlington that was so nice that I had a whole conversation with a petite nurse about it during a visit to a University health service. It was so difficult to find petite coats back then and Burlington had them. The nurse shyly asked if she could try my coat on for size and I let her without thinking that was totally weird. Because I've been that desperate. Am again now actually. The last time I bought something at Burlington was a stockpile of Liz Claiborne black pleather handbags that actually had great styles. The brand was not in fashion but the bags were good looking (plain black, no logo), had convenient compartments, and looked real until you got your nose right up to them. That was about 15 years ago.
