I don't think they're Notre Dame or Michigan just yet, but it's not often that you see a smart school knock off the number 1 team in the country. This is very new experience for Vanderbilt. Very exciting though if you like college football. And I'm sure it's good for the Vanderbilt brand.

Hmmm. Debatable.

Name a rival to this and we can debate. I don’t even follow college football and even I know this is a BFD. Also f*** Alabama always .

I was reading on ESPN that this was the 6th biggest upset in the SEC only over the last 20ish years. App State beating Michigan was a much bigger upset. NIU beating ND just a few weeks ago was a bigger upset. It’s clear you don’t follow college football.

What an exaggeration. Bama was favored by 22.5 points.

USC vs Stanford in 2007 is the greatest upset. USC was favored by over 40 points.

As for helping apps, when Vandy finishes sub 50% win rate again. This will be forgotten.

Everyone but Bama fans are happy tonight. That’s good enough for me.

A college where more kids try to get in based on their sports team success is not a college my kids are interested in.

That being said, congrats on the win! It was well-deserved.

Sports teams success can be beneficial for all areas of a school. It’s a great single day win, and an important step in building their football program, And hey, school spirit is a nice thing!

Alabama is loaded with 4 and 5 star players. Their roster is way better than Michigan and ND was when both teams got upset. Alabama, like Ohio State and Georgia, have had for years the top talent in all of college football. They should never lose to an inferior opponent.

The ACC is the only legitimate conference that has great academics and athletics. Ivy athletics outside of Hockey, fencing, and other obscure sports is weak. ACC:
Stanford
Duke
Cal
ND
UVA
UNC
GATech
VATech

Saying "the ACC" should be like saying "the Ivy League."
