Saw your updated question:
Gross $32,120/month Take home $15,230/month (47.4%) |
| Spouse takes home $17,300 monthly (excluding equity and bonus -- which largely goes to 529s and our retirement savings since we are down to one 401(k), with some toward travel and charity). I stay at home with our kids so mine is currently $0 except for random stuff I sell. |
Interesting addition. DH 12,500 not including bonus. Spend: 9K After tax savings: 3500 |
| This is a weird thread. I would post mine, but everyone here's posting is not in line with the DCUM salaries/comp I've seen in the past, typical for execs and doctors in the 500k+ range. |

You people give up way too much of your money. I make around $13K a month and take home around $10K.
The $3K deducted is all taxes. I'm self-employed so have some deductions that you all don't (QBI, etc.). But beyond that, I prioritize paying off my condo and putting as much money as I can in my taxable brokerage account - I want my money now! I don't do 401(k)s - I think even giving money to your future self is a mistake. I don't have a health insurance deduction - I buy insurance on the exchange for like $2K per year. I only contribute $0.5K per year to my HSA. I know "conventional wisdom" says all these deductions are smart. But I'm 42 and will be retiring by 45, while you all will be working until you're almost senior citizens - so who's really smart? |
| It varies. 12-13k in an average month. |
| Gross is $11,250 per month for me. Net is around $6700. Partner likely nets $3000 - $4000 a month; not sure about gross. |

I need $7k a month.
This money comes from long term capitol gains, survivor's benefits, and very low earned income. What I 'make', I also take home. I will need $7500 next year to cover our expenses. |

Mine (DW) - $7200
DH - $15,000 That doesn’t include bonuses or quarterly draws. |
They might show up, but I think this is more indicative of middle road DCUM. I also wonder sometimes if people don't exaggerate. My DH does a lot of recruiting for mid to high level jobs. While there are plenty of the high income jobs in tech and BigLaw, most people don't make 500k+. |
| Wife and I combined: $23,641 |
|
DH $4700
Me self employed maybe $1000-$1500 |
| $12,500 for me, $9,300 for my husband. |
|
$18,000 monthly
No debt at all. Spend less than $5,000 most months. |
