OK? That's a lot of people.

OP is probably also the one who posted about women calling teen boys "guys"

That’s changing! My college freshmen and his buddies would go play in the evening last summer…and these at D1 athletes Its now on a lot of college campuses for kids to screw around with.

More than 70% of avid pickleball players are between the ages of 18 and 44, with 40% between 25 and 34 and 18% between 18 and 24.

I don't know how accurate the stat is. I play PB at Lewinsville Park in McLean in the afternoon/evening, and I also play at Meridian school in Falls church. I can definitely say that about 60% of PB players is between the age of 18 and 40. When I was vacationing in Bradenton Florida earlier this year, and played PB there, the PB courts right next to a medical/dental school was packed with young future professional doctors and dentists, both males and females.

OMG I totally knew this was you when I read the OP. You are the only one posting about hot young thangs playing pickleball.

Just embrace that your hobby (not a sport) is for old people. You are also old. Its ok!

Sometimes before his 2 hour team training and I’d say u sure u want to do that before practice and he’d laugh and say “it’s pickleball, mom”. But they have fun and get competitive.

No different than drunk kickball 15 years ago. How many marriages were created out of that fad?

Pickleball will be over in 10 years

I don't think so. Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun, Stafford, and Prince Williams counties are building out new PB courts, at the expense of tennis courts, in order to keep up with demands for PB.

Are you aware the PB is now a varsity sport in MoCo County Public School? It will likely be a varsity in Fairfax County Public School next year.

Eh, not really. It was added to the list for inclusion reasons so they could have an adaptive sport for kids with special needs who can't be varsity in a real sport.

It is extremely competitive at UVA to make the pickleball team. My DD tried out and didn't make it. https://news.virginia.edu/content/new-club-national-champs-rise-uva-pickleball

It is neither. I am a member at Westwood CC in Vienna, and the CC has PB too.

To still be young, beautiful and at your peak athletic ability and choosing pickleball over tennis is a tragedy!

Yeah but you can play pickleball inside (so after work) and it's easy to find groups.

Well, that’s not exactly a country club with a lot of prestige is it?
