Teamsters decline to endorse a candidate…

Teamsters have always endored Democrat candidates for decades and decades.

The fact they won't endorse Kamala says a lot!

Teamsters have been in the Trump camp since 2015. The fact that they're staying out of this one says more about Trump than Harris.

They endorsed Trump in 2016?

Some pertinent details from the WP article:

*The Teamsters have already donated a substantial amount to the Dem party:

"The Teamsters have donated more than $800,000 so far this election cycle, with more than 92 percent going to Democratic PACs, according to OpenSecrets, a nonprofit that tracks campaign finance."

Shows that Teamsters are still Democrats, but that they just do not like Kamala Harris.

It's over. :/

Yes! It says that misogyny, hypocrisy and ignorance are thriving in America today

The national office is sitting this one out, but some of the locals are endorsing Harris.

The bolded is correct. "The Teamsters have endorsed the Democratic ticket in every presidential election since 1996, when they did not endorse a candidate." But, interestingly, "the union had closer ties to the GOP decades ago, endorsing Richard M. Nixon, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush."

You want them to be told that they should vote for certain candidates. They are smarter than you think and can make their own decisions.

The benefit of an endorsement is not that the leadership tells its members how to vote, but rather that the union organizes campaign events and does fundraising. This is a nice way for the Teamsters to award Biden/Harris for saving their pensions. When Harris wins I hope that she will remember.

The Teamsters in Nevada are organizing for Harris. They know what's up.

Teamsters support Trump over Harris 2-1. Democrats keep using the same rhetoric while ignoring the policy changes they have instituted.

No. Sixty percent of the rank and file polled for Trump. This will be very important in the swing states of MI, PA and WI.

Wrong. I'm sure that's the spin MAGA will put on it. More likely it's an internal issue related to Sean O'Brien wanting to keep his job.

You forgot the racism word in your predictable list...

So all the Teamster's rank and file members are Trumpsters now, and Sean O'Brien is almost a Trumpster or else he gets fired?

No endorsement because the majority of members are for Trump.

Yeah, I hope Harris does remember this moving forward. No more pension bailouts, fellas, and don't go crying to anyone if you end up with a union-busting administration!

Teamsters Statement:

Leadership doesn't think either candidate is better for unions. Membership is split. 60-40 one way or the other is huge in an election, but not huge for justifying an endorsement.
They weren't impressed by Biden during the Railway strike.

Does anyone have a well-documented argument for why leadership or membership is making a mistake?

Abortion doesn't count; that's not Teamsters responsibility, even if individual members find it important for non-union reasons.

I expect Harris to govern honorably, not follow Trump into selling Presidential favors for personal gain.

Seriously? What a joke.
