What pussies they are. Pretend to be tough guy, working class Americans but refuse to stand up and support a union supporting candidate. Cowards and hypocrites. |
I admire them for acknowledging that their members are capable of making their own voting choices. |
Their racism and misogyny gets in the way.
It's like those lower income tools who got healthcare under Obama and still vote Republican due to their hate, because they sure as hell don't have the bank to vote Republican. |
You want them to be told that they should vote for certain candidates. They are smarter than you think and can make their own decisions. |
Where is it saying that members can’t make their own choices? |
The benefit of an endorsement is not that the leadership tells its members how to vote, but rather that the union organizes campaign events and does fundraising. This is a nice way for the Teamsters to award Biden/Harris for saving their pensions. When Harris wins I hope that she will remember. |
Despite your fluff words, we all know what a union endorsement actually means. |
Teamsters support Trump over Harris 2-1. Democrats keep using the same rhetoric while ignoring the policy changes they have instituted. |
It means money. No fluff words required. |
Did this mean something to you when you typed it out? |
Wow, this is HUGE.
Teamsters have always endored Democrat candidates for decades and decades. The fact they won't endorse Kamala says a lot! |
Teamsters have been in the Trump camp since 2015. The fact that they're staying out of this one says more about Trump than Harris. |
The fact they won't endorse Kamala says a lot
Yes! It says that misogyny, hypocrisy and ignorance are thriving in America today |
This is disappointing since "in a major victory for the Teamsters, the White House secured a pension bailout that restored retirement accounts for about 600,000 union members."
Some pertinent details from the WP article: *Statement regarding the decision not to endorse either candidate: “Unfortunately, neither major candidate was able to make serious commitments to our union to ensure the interests of working people are always put before Big Business,” said Teamsters president Sean O’Brien in a statement. The union had “sought commitments from both Trump and Harris” specifically about their union campaigns, core industries and right to strike, but “were unable to secure those pledges,” he added. *The Teamsters have already donated a substantial amount to the Dem party: "The Teamsters have donated more than $800,000 so far this election cycle, with more than 92 percent going to Democratic PACs, according to OpenSecrets, a nonprofit that tracks campaign finance." *I'm from a union family, and this is what I think is really going on: "Some labor experts say O’Brien has adopted a more bipartisan approach under pressure to consider the membership’s diverse political leanings. He won the union’s top office in 2021 after running as a reform candidate who promised more member involvement in union decision-making. O’Brien is also aware that many rank-and-file Teamsters are Trump supporters, experts say." Here's an article on the issue from the WP (I gifted the link). https://wapo.st/47v6LRS |
It's damning for sure. She is not capable of being any kind of a leader and everyone knows it. |
