| I sort of get this. Weekdays are busy |
| I am a working parent and wish friends invited me out more. Would love to have your problem OP! |
I’ll have coffee but drinks leave me tired the next day and work is too intense these days. |

They ask. It isn't as if you can't offer something else.
Be glad they asked. You should ungrateful. |
Yes, but I’m not an alcoholic. I can handle 1-2 drinks on a weeknight with some food and still be up by 630am to begin the morning routine. |
WAH parent same here. Spouse drives other kid. |
| It’s nice you’re being invited! What the heck. |
Old friends don't have anything I can make money from. |
^ our child free best friends used to come over after kids were in bed midweek. And sometimes parents in the neighborhood. We were a lot more social when kids were younger. We were the “meeting/party house”. Now mid-50s and my couch and Netflix after picking up kid at 9pm from practice is all we want to do during the week. Share a glass of wine, etc |
| We do get a lot of dinners or drinks during the week because the weekends get so busy. 0-3 drinks (which seems to be about what is consumed) isn't enough to cause a hang over or issues for the next day. We do weekend stuff too, but our weekday get togethers seem to be the most well attended. |
Same! |

I get it, OP. I work longer hours than most of my friends. I’m at work by 6am and have to be ready for an 10-11 hour day. I can’t go out on weeknights.
I’m grateful they keep asking me, though. I’m sure they are aware I’ll always say no, but I feel included because they think of inviting me. It’s nice. |
The alcoholics will drink you under the table and be at work the next day like nothing happened. The rare drinker is going to have a raging hangover after 2 drinks on a weeknight. |

i love it!
its an excuse to get out of the house. DH can watch DS and they can have a boys night. |
| I’ve got four kids eleven and under. Weekday night? Dream on! |
