Working parent vent. I hate when old friends ask me out for mid week plans. Not fun

If I’m having weekday drinks or dinner, it’s typically professional or work related

Just say no and move on. You're making it an issue.

There’s always a poster like you

Frankly you sound like they're lucky they think of you at all. What a sadsack.

I’m the opposite. I wish more people would be willing to do things during the week so weekends could be family time.

Huh. Unless this is weekly, not sure I see why you are upset.

Next time, you plan the get together and make the reservation.

We actually prefer to do drinks or dinner with a friend at 8pm (or later) once the kids are in bed. We can actually make that work.

All our friends without kids want to do dinner at 630pm! No bueno.

Sorry you did not pick the SAHW/M path.

If you can make time for professional drinks why can’t you make time for personal drinks?

I will honestly go out any time of day or week I am invited if at all possible. Got up early to have coffee with my friend before work last week.

I’m a SAHM parent and can’t make weeknight drinks work! I’m driving kids to activities all a afternoon and evening.
