7.7% unknown race.
Nice. |
What in the world are you talking about? |
Asian |
He is saying that most of the URM went TO and most of the asians submitted test scores. |
If the UCLA example is any indicator, it's "mostly" asian and some white. |
Everyone applying to Princeton has taken them. At our diverse public high school, 85% take the ACT or SAT and only 55% go to four year college. The people not taking them are at the bottom of the class - ESL, may not graduate, messed up home life, etc. The state flagship doesn’t require them and doesn’t use them for scholarships. Even a lot of kids who think they’re going to trade school take them. Only in California could I see college bound students not taking the SAT/ACT. |
Yes. Also most of the internationals too. So basically 50 percent asian. The white and hispanic numbers are really low. |
| If Princeton wanted, they could easily have an entire class all 1550+ |
|
72% quailify for aid?
So basically only 1/4 are in the DCUM, two fed or two professional demographic? (HHI >250K?) |
| It may not be entirely successful in accomplishing this, but Princeton - as much as if not more than any elite university now - attempts to identify candidates it believes will benefit the most from a Princeton education and degree. That is far more important to the admissions department than just having top test scores - they could fill the entering classes many times over with just those kids if they were so inclined. |
Keep track of the blacks thread 2! |
And yet they took a bunch of 1400s because of skin color. That is what makes it racist. |
| Princeton alum and I was shocked by photos of incoming first generation students: most of them were obese. (I was also first gen but wasn't obese.) Sad that kids so young are in such poor shape and health. |
Test scores are not the only factor for admission. they are not putting all the kids in an ordered list by test score and creating a cuttoff where they accept everyone above and no one below. That is what you want, but that will never happen. They had no racial data to rely on, so you are just assuming all the 1400s are black for just reasons? Vibes? Or do you just assume that blacks are not as smart? There can't be enough of them that exist in the United States to fill a percentage of ivy league schools beyond 1%. |
How, exactly, would they have been able to identify and track applicants by race? They didn't receive that data from College Board. And of it was written in an essay they would have had to assume it was a actually true (because who would ever lie about their race... except maybe Mindy Kaling's brother). And then they would have had to make a record of that somehow. That's the kind of paper trail discovery dreams of. Didn't happen. So all we have is your presumption that if someone was accepted to this school with a sub 1500 then they must, obviously, be URM. Do you sh*t on everyone at Princeton with < 1500 or just URM students? |
